An estimated 90 percent of women around the world will experience cellulite at some point in their lives. The pesky cosmetic problem presents itself primarily on the buttocks, thighs, and upper arms where it does no actual harm but almost certainly impacts one’s self-esteem and even sexual confidence.

That’s why we’re proud to be our area’s sole provider of a brand-new FDA-approved injectable called Qwo that makes the problem of cellulite a thing of the past.

The injectable medicine is prescribed and administered right here in our practice by aesthetic experts trained in its use by the manufacturers.

A look at cellulite

To know how Qwo works, we have to look at cellulite. Cellulite looks like an orange peel or even cottage cheese appearance on the surface of the skin. But, it’s beneath the skin where we’ll find what causes it. Here we find three factors that cause or contribute to cellulite. If we can resolve these we can tackle existing cellulite for good—and that’s exactly what Qwo does:

  • Fibrous bands of connective tissue (called fibrous septae) connect the skin surface to the underlying muscles. These fibrous bands end up tugging at the skin, creating the dimples that are found in all cellulite.
  • Fatty tissue accumulates in the area and herniates upward between these columns of connective tissue. When the columns expand further, they push more fatty tissue upward. This creates the peaks or bumps that are found in cellulite.
  • The skin in affected areas gets thinner over time, causing both the peaks and dimples of cellulite to appear even more prominently.

Although Qwo’s exact mechanism of action is unknown, it is known and proven by very extensive clinical trials that Qwo appears to resolve all of the above, leaving skin in the treated area looking and feeling smooth and free of unsightly cellulite.

(Why only the buttocks?)

All medications are FDA-approved for certain uses. In Qwo’s case, that indication is for the buttocks of adult women who are experiencing moderate to severe cellulite. Qwo may be prescribed for other off-label uses including treating cellulite in the thighs and arms. Please inquire about this use if it interests you.

How many Qwo treatments will I need?

All patients get 3 treatment sessions spaced 21 days apart. At each session, we can treat 12 dimples per buttock, and 24 dimples in all per session.

QWO Saratoga

Recovery

The most common side effects of Qwo are bruising, redness and itching at injection sites. These will disappear on their own within 7 to 21 days and over-the-counter pain medication can be taken as needed for the first few days after treatment. After treatments number two and three, the side effects are even less obvious and they resolve even faster.

Results

In bringing Qwo to market, Qwo’s manufacturer conducted the largest-ever clinical studies on cellulite. The product is thoroughly tested on patients of all skin tones and skin types and is safe and effective for all. Within approximately 10 weeks, you’ll notice a significant improvement in the texture of your skin as Qwo works to eliminate the causes of the cellulite dimples.

Am I a candidate for Qwo?

Qwo is an ideal treatment for any adult female experiencing moderate or even severe dimpled cellulite on her buttocks, thighs, or upper arms. If you are currently pregnant or nursing or are allergic to any of the ingredients found in Qwo, you would not be eligible for treatment.
