Icon Laser

The Icon is a multi-modality IPL and Laser platform that can perform several functions based on the advanced handpieces that attach to it. The addition of this device has allowed us to greatly expand our light-based treatments, and to further complete the spectrum of treatments we offer. In our practice, the Icon is used for two distinct, but very important different devices:

• Max-G: The Icon with Max-G handpiece is arguably the best IPL device available: Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) delivers light across a variety of wavelengths in the visible spectrum. The light is absorbed by both skin pigment and vascular lesions, allowing these areas to lift and clear from the tissue. This device is the ideal treatment for sun and skin damage and for the removal of facial vessels, rosacea, and general dyschromia. It also allows us to treat larger areas (photofacials) as well as targeting specific spots.
• 1540nm: The Icon also has a Non-ablative laser resurfacing handpiece, which is an excellent device for patients who would like to have skin rejuvenation but cannot afford to have downtime. The 1540nm erbium handpiece delivers laser in a fractional method into the skin, promoting significant collagen production and skin revitalization. It can be used all over the body, and a series of treatments can significantly improve skin quality, appearance and texture, remove wrinkles, and decrease the appearance of scars and stretch marks. It is a useful tool for patients who desire resurfacing without the time off.
