Tear Trough Treatment

Aging is the typical cause of dark circles or bags under the eyes. Over time the skin under the eye can lose elasticity or fat pockets develop and sag, with extreme cases called “festoons.” As we age, the fat pockets become larger, or protrude, leading to dark shadows beneath your eyes.

Aging in the undereye area typically starts in the thirties or forties, but even patients in their twenties can develop unattractive dark bags beneath the eyes. Until recently, the only treatment to successfully correct under-eye bags a corrective eyelid surgery called blepharoplasty. However, tear trough treatment is a modern, fast, non-surgical treatment.

A local anesthetic will be administered for your comfort, even though most patients experience only a minor pinching sensation during the procedure. Dr. Ridha will then inject the fillers into the treatment area to smooth skin and reduce the appearance of dark circles.

Fillers used during the procedure usually include Juvederm, Restylane, or another hyaluronic filler. The injections will only take approximately 30 minutes to complete and you will experience little to no pain, and can quickly resume your daily activities with a fresher, more vital facial appearance.
