Medical-grade chemical peels to improve skin texture, reduce pigmentation, and reveal a smoother, more radiant complexion with customized formulations for every skin type.
Chemical peels improve the quality of the skin by removing damaged outer layers, enhancing quality and smoothing texture. Each chemical peel treatment employs a combination of exfoliating acids, skin brighteners, and skin strengtheners to provide maximum benefits with minimal discomfort and little to no downtime. Chemical peels have been studied and shown to be safe and effective as treatment for myriad skin conditions including acne, superficial scarring, photodamage, melasma, and to refresh and rejuvenate skin.
SkinMedica offers a comprehensive system of three peels, each designed to treat skin conditions from mild to severe, including photodamaged skin, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentary abnormalities, and superficial acne scarring. Our medical aestheticians use SkinMedica's in-office peels to accelerate your path to younger, healthier-looking skin.
At Our Spa at Jeffrey Ridha M.D., P.C., we offer peel options for a variety of skin concerns and every skin type. Our medical aestheticians will help guide you in choosing the appropriate plan of care tailored to your individual skincare needs.
The gentlest option, often called the 'Red Carpet Peel.' Delivers instant glow with little to no downtime. Perfect for first-time peel patients or pre-event radiance. Each Illuminize Peel earns you 25 Brilliant Distinction points.

The strongest SkinMedica peel for significant correction. Ideal for sun damage, melasma, pigmentary changes, and superficial acne scarring. Expect 4-5 days or more of peeling with dramatic results. Each Rejuvenize Peel earns you 100 Brilliant Distinction points.
A powerful blend of acids designed to lighten hyperpigmentation and photo-damaged skin. Provides deeper penetration and exfoliation, resulting in noticeable flaking and peeling for 3-4 days. Within a week you will see significant improvements in texture, tone, and a more even complexion.
Natural milk acids gently remove dead skin cells, leaving skin soft and smooth. Stimulates collagen synthesis, reducing fine lines, dryness, and pigmentation.
Derived from cane sugar, this peel revitalizes dull, dry, sun-damaged skin by speeding cell renewal and drawing moisture to the surface for a hydrated, refreshed complexion.
A gentle, superficial peel derived from bitter almonds. Great for first-time patients or before special events for an instant glow without aggressive peeling.
Specifically designed for sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. This beta-hydroxy acid peel has analgesic properties that make it well-tolerated, visibly reduces pore appearance, and improves texture and tone for a brighter, clearer complexion.
Chemical peels are safe and effective for a variety of skin conditions. The best candidates include those with:
Photodamaged or sun-damaged skin
Fine lines, wrinkles, and early signs of aging
Melasma or hyperpigmentation concerns
Acne, acne scarring, or oily skin
Dull, uneven skin tone or texture
Realistic expectations about treatment outcomes
The right peel depends on your skin type, concerns, and goals. During your consultation, our medical aestheticians will assess your skin and recommend the appropriate peel strength. First-time patients often start with an Illuminize or Mandelic peel, while those with significant sun damage may benefit from the Rejuvenize peel.
Although you will see improvement after just one treatment, a series of 3-6 peels typically provides optimal results. Your provider will create a customized treatment plan based on your specific concerns and desired outcomes.
Recovery varies by peel strength. Light peels like the Illuminize have virtually no downtime. Medium peels like the Vitalize may cause 2-3 days of flaking. Deeper peels like the Rejuvenize can result in 4-5 days of peeling. Proper aftercare and sun protection are essential for all peels.
Yes, chemical peels can be applied to the neck, chest (décolleté), hands, and back as well. These areas commonly show signs of sun damage and aging and respond well to peel treatments.
